What the heck is Search Engine Optimization?
What is optimization exactly? Search engine optimization or SEO is the practice of trying to improve the number of relevant visitors to your web site through organic (or natural) search results. Search engines account for more than 60% of the traffic on the internet and still remain the most common way people find things on the internet.
How we do it?
We begin search engine optimization with a through review and assessment of your web site as well as your top 3 competitors in order to determine your page rank and the keyword, phrases and industry terms used to describe the products and services you provide. Once the keywords have been selected, we complete an analysis using live search requests to find out how many times that keyword was searched. We then give you a page-by-page breakdown of our optimization suggestions and work with you to implement the necessary changes to improve your pagerank and listing status in the search engines. Your new optimized pages will then be submitted to the directories and search engines. A follow-up status report will be given 2 months after optimization to show results.
Free Listing
Free Listing is often referred to as an organic listing and it means that you didn't pay a fee to get your site indexed into their directory. The free directory listings are usually below the paid listings which are found at the top of a results page. A lot of directories still do offer free listing, but it does take a lot longer to get listed (4-6 weeks) The big directories that offer free listings that account for the majority of searches are Google, Yahoo, The Open Directory Project, Teoma/Ask Jeeves, and MSN. There are hundreds more search engines of course, but these are the most important to get listed and ranked highly in.
