The Meadows Foundation
Project: Web redesign and ongoing maintenance
www.themeadowsfoundation.org

The Meadows Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of historical homes built in the early 1700's to late 1800's. Since 1976, The Meadows Foundation has been the curator of 7 different historical properties in Somerset County, New Jersey. Over the years, the Meadows has fully restored several of the properties including, Van Wickle, Van-Liew Suydam, Wyckoff-Garretson, Hageman House and barn, Tulipwood, Franklin Inn and Blackwell Mills house. Although the Meadows had an existing site they were looking to hire a professional firm to update the look of their web site and to add a shopping cart where members could renew and pay for their membership online and visitors could make charitable contributions to the organization. They also wanted to add a calendar section for the several different events they host throughout the year. To view before and after screen shots, click on the 'back' and 'next' buttons.

The idea was to create a site that highlighted the beautifully restored homes and to increase visibility of the Meadow Foundation. We did this by designing a seperate page for each house with a brief history of the house, the people that once lived there and 'before' and 'after' restoration photos. We also added a calendar section for the several different outreach programs throughout the the year that include, the Candlelight Concert Series, Colonial Times, Fireside Chats Living History, Poetry and Open House Tours. Recently we added membership renewal and donation pages where members can pay for their membership and visitors can make a contribution to the organization online.
