Client: J. Alden & Company
Project: Logo Design and Branding
www.jaldenco.com

Jean Oursler is the President of J.Alden & Company, a business consulting firm for medium to large size corporations. When I intially sat down with Jean, she told me that she had another designer whom she had hired to design her logo, but after several versions, hadn't come up with anything that she liked. I asked about her company name and she told me the story of her ancestor, J. Alden, a barrel maker who came to America aboard the Mayflower. The bells and whistles went off in my head and I visualized all the different possibilites we could incorporate with the image of her business. Going from the idea of "Old World" to the "New World"

Using an old Victorian palette, I chose a nice medium tone tealish blue for the background, accenting it with two seperate and very old fonts, in a soft oatmeal color. The result, a logo I absolutely love, love, love that has an air of sophistication, class, and an old world, antique feel.
